Week of April 14, 2014

We have been working on writing numbers 1 to 120.  Students did this with counting strips and in missing number puzzles.

We met our goal of finding and fixing 100 math mistakes.  Our math celebration was listening to music during math time today!

We finished up our literature responses by reading the book Elephants Can Paint too.  Students had to give 3 pieces of proof when they answered the question.

We finished up our Force and Motion unit today.  We ended by everyone planning and conducting their own experiment with a ball and ramp. After vacation we will be start learning about farming and plants.  Have a great vacation!

Week of April 7, 2014

We have become math detectives.  Students are working on finding and correcting their mistakes.  There are 5 things they have to check.  Students who catch their mistake and correct it get to put a sticker on our Check Your Work chart.  When we have fixed 100 mistakes we will have a math celebration!
This week we played a game called Ten Turns. Students roll a dice and continue to add on.
We have been working hard on our Response to Literature pieces.  This week we read a book called Too Loud Lily and worked on answering the question, giving three pieces of proof, and making a connection.
Be on the lookout for All About books coming home!

We wrote in our science notebooks on Monday.  We responded to the question What is force?

Calling All Legos!

Ms. Henault's class would love to have a collection of Legos for our classroom.  We are looking for any kind families that would like to donate some.  Students would be able to use them at indoor recess or choice time.  Thank you!
