So Much Fun on the Farm!

A big thank you to the Davis farm for allowing us to come and visit!  We were able to feed baby cows, explore the farm, and make butter.  We even travelled in style on the hay wagon!

Comic Books and Graphic Novels!

This week we are working on writing comics or graphic novels.  The class has really been enjoying it!  If your kiddo would like to write some at home there is a great website with free, printable paper.  This would be a great way to keep your kiddo writing at home this summer!

Math Menu

I am so proud of the whole class and their ability to be independent, focused students during Math Menu time.  They have grown so much!  This is our last week of running Math Menu in our traditional style, so students have free choice over ABCYA games and math apps.  We are also trying out a really fun game called Lego Math! Our math packet focuses on adding and subtracting with double digit numbers and shapes to go along with our 3D shape unit.  These kiddos are ready for second grade!

S'mores and a Campfire!

We celebrated our last writing unit by reading our stories in the dark next to the campfire!

 Can't forget the s'mores!

Day of Service

These pictures are from earlier this month when a class of high school students came to spend time with us as part of their Day of Service.  They spent time reading, having lunch, and playing outside at recess with us.  They also joined us for a JAM in our classroom!
