Week of February 1st, 2015

We have competed another force and motion experiment.  This time we focused on the question: will a light ball or a heavy ball roll further off the ramp?  The ball was our variable for this experiment.  Students had to write a hypothesis, perform the experiment, measure the distance with Popsicle sticks, record their data, and write a conclusion. We all learned that a heavy ball will roll further than a light ball.

We have been working really hard on our realistic fiction stories.  We celebrated by doing a quick edit of one of our stories and sharing it with a buddy!  We are also working on giving our buddies kind and specific compliments.

Happy 100th day of school!  We did some writing using the number 100.  Then we had to guess who the paper belonged to!

Students may bring in Valentine's Day cards next Friday, but they must bring one in for everyone!

Buddy Reading!

We have become experts in buddy reading!

Force and Motion Fun!

We have been learning all about force and motion. We have read a lot of books and performed our own force and motion experiment.  We also tried out this game together!
