Wonderful Wednesday!

We have a been trying out a new app called Telling Time during Math Menu.  This is to help us practice telling time to the hour.

Nurse Lindsay came in today to teach us about how amazing our bodies are!

Our class will be leading morning meeting on Tuesday, February 13th.  Families are invited to come!  It starts at 7:50.  Part of our presentation will be reading a poem about Valentine's Day.  Today we practiced our poem as a class and with our reading buddies.  Students will continue to practice it as a class, individually, and with their reading buddies.  Students will have a copy of the poem coming home in their Thursday Folders, so they can practice reading it at home as well.

Quizzing Our Buddies

We tried a new activity at word study today.  Students took turns quizzing their buddies using whiteboards.  We have been working on glued sounds (ink, ank, onk, unk, ing, ang, ung, ong).  If students finished, they could also quiz each other on word wall words.

Some Fun From The Week!

At morning meeting, the class had a challenge to line up in order from tallest to shortest without talking!  They then got to greet the people next to them!
 First Grade Newsflash!
We have started working on telling time to the hour this week.

CELEBRATION!

We have earned another celebration!  Tomorrow will be pajama and stuffed animal day.  The stuffed animal must be small enough to fit inside a backpack.  Students do not have to wear pajamas if they do not want to.  If school is cancelled tomorrow because of the weather, the celebration will be moved to Monday.  Thanks!
