Tooth Tutor!

We had a visit from the tooth tutor today.  We learned about how to keep our teeth healthy!

Be on the lookout in Thursday folders for two important papers!  One is a list of What Good Readers Do.  This is a great list of strategies to be encouraging at home.  Students should spend about ten minutes a day reading to themselves, a family member, or being read to!  There will also be a list of sight words that students can practice reading and writing at home.  Different lists will come home throughout the school year.  Thanks for helping your child learn!

What Have We Been Up To?

We are getting our math menu up and running.  Last week we practiced all of the choices.  This week students are working on being independent.

We started buddy reading last week!

Stamina and Classroom Rules

We have been working on our reading and writing stamina.  On Friday, we wrote for 17 minutes and read for 10 minutes! Tomorrow students are going to begin shopping for their own books in our classroom library.

We worked on creating our classroom rules this week.  We decided on four classroom rules and signed our names to them!
