Waiting For Spring...

We have been measuring different tape lines in our classroom using different units of measurement.  We used kid feet, basketball player feet, and baby feet!
We have updated our kindness wall.  I am on the lookout for acts of kindness!
We started our morning with a whole school buddy reading celebration.  This time we got to read with Mrs. Clarke's class.

We have been working on bringing our characters to life when we read.  Today, students worked with a buddy to bring Piggie and Elephant to life by changing their voices to show the character's feelings.

Game and Puzzle Celebration

We will spend part of our morning tomorrow playing board games and doing puzzles to celebrate reaching our "paws" points goal.  Students are invited to bring in a game or puzzle to share, but there are plenty in our classroom already!  Thanks!

Come On Spring!

We created spring pictures using pencil, marker, and watercolor.  Tomorrow we will make spring poems to go with them. Check them out on our bulletin board!

New Math Unit

We started a new math unit today.  This unit focuses on measurement.  Today we practiced measuring and recording the lengths of different objects using unifix cubes.

We have also started new reading and writing units.  The writing unit is realistic fiction and writing about different adventures that characters can go on.  The reading unit ties in nicely because it is also about how readers go on adventures.  We will really be focusing on different comprehension strategies during this reading unit.
