Poetry

We are wrapping up our poetry unit.  Students are editing and revising their poems on their own and with a buddy. We will be typing our poems up with help from our third grade buddies!

Week of March 21. 2016

We started our poetry writing unit.  We started by exploring some poetry books with buddies.

Here is the grass from our light experiment.  Can you guess which grass was grown with no light?

We made plant life cycles in our plant journals.

In word study, we have been working on writing words with long vowels and magic E's at the end.

In math, we have been working on counting and adding with tens and ones.  Ask your first grader to count by tens starting on any number!  You will be impressed!

Birdhouses

Building birdhouses was a great success!  Students even got to build mini birdhouses.  A big thank you to the families that came in to help!
