Week of January 4, 2016

We have started a new unit in math.  This unit is all about measurement.  We have worked on measuring objects accurately and with different units.  The different measurement units we have used are paper clips, tiles, unifix cubes, and a ruler.  We have discussed why different units give you different measurements.

We learned a new app called Base Ten Bingo.  This app helps students understand place value.

We had Four Winds.  The topic was squirrels.  It was a lot of fun.  Thank you to the moms that took the time to teach us!

In Word Study, we have been learning about blends.  Blends can be at the beginning or at the end of the word.  We learned that is really important to tap out every sound, so you don't miss any!  Our world was words were Oh You Lucky Duck words.  They are would, should, and could.

In writing, we are wrapping up our opinion writing pieces.  We have been revising by using a check list.  Ms. Graf came to visit us on Friday for writing.  She was really impressed with our writing!
