What Have We Been Up To?

 We are getting our math menu up and running.  Last week we practiced all of the choices.  This week students are working on being independent.

We started buddy reading last week!

Stamina and Classroom Rules

We have been working on our reading and writing stamina.  On Friday, we wrote for 17 minutes and read for 10 minutes! Tomorrow students are going to begin shopping for their own books in our classroom library. 

We worked on creating our classroom rules this week.  We decided on four classroom rules and signed our names to them!

First Week of School

We have been having a great time getting to know each other this week. We have also been learning about our classroom and our routines and expectations. 

In math, we have been exploring math manipulatives and our  math books.

 We have been working on our reading stamina this week.  Today we read independently for 6 minutes!

I have enjoyed having these wonderful kiddos in my class this year.  They are all amazing, and they are all ready for their second grade adventures.  Have a great summer!

Fun on the Farm

We had so much fun on at the Davis Dairy Farm today!  We got to ride in a hay wagon, bottle feed calves, make butter, and go on a scavenger hunt!

Celebrations, art, and more!

Last week we ate snack outside as a celebration!  

We are working on a farming art project for our bulletin board.

We had a publishing parade on Friday with Ms. Cafferty's class.  We showed off our last published pieces to the whole school.  It was so much fun!  Published pieces will be coming home in folders on Thursday.

We started our last math unit today.  It is about patterns.
