Week of December 8 and December 15
Squishy Circuits and S.T.E.A.M.
This week students began rotating through a week long S.T.E.A.M. learning opportunity, with Mr. Bouchard, our enrichment teacher. S.T.E.A.M. is an acronym born out the Next Generation Science Standards. It stands for the integration of science, technology, engineering, art andmathematics. This innovative new part of the Enrichment Program will provide your child with an introduction to S.T.E.A.M. skills that will serve as a base for further projects in the Enrichment Room’s Maker Space. Squishy circuits are an innovative way for children to learn about electricity and the flow of electricity in a complete circuit using conductive and nonconductive homemade playdough. We are looking to encourage innovation and creativity through the engineering design process.
Please look for updated pictures of your child being creative through this hands-on learning process.
