We made our mailboxes for our Valentine's Day celebration. We will be celebrating on Monday now!
This week in math we focused on fractions. We learned about halves and fourths. Students worked on dividing different shapes into halves and fourths. We know that it's important for all the pieces to be equal. We played a fun game to help us learn about halves. I saw some great teamwork from everyone in the class trying to solve this puzzle. We just finished reading James and the Giant Peach. We have been collecting our paws points for two weeks, so that we can watch the movie James and the Giant Peach.
In writing, we continue to work on our nonfiction All About books. Students worked on writing subtitles and facts about their topic. They also worked on drawing detailed pictures with labels that help the reader learn more about their topic.
