We had a lot of fun in math today! We first read the book Measuring Penny, and then students measured their own stuffed animals. They measured using dog biscuits, cotton swabs, and tooth picks. Every student took a turn weighing their animal using base ten blocks.
Math Centers
At the "Ms. Henault" center, students were divided into groups by different math concepts they needed extra practice with. These concepts were money, time, and writing and building numbers. The Ipad center was open, and students were allowed to choose off our App Menu. The last center was a game called Money Exchange. This helps students to identify coins, count coins, and make trades for larger coins
.
Bailee, an occupational therapist that works in the district, came in to visit out class this week. She taught us strategies, activities, and games to calm our bodies down. She had suggestions for when we were sitting at circle and at our tables. This student is trying an activity called "Make the Room Bigger."
Our Word Wall words this week were up, if, and will.
